AMP Application

Please read the following instructions completely when preparing your application to the AMP.

Application Deadline:  The priority deadline for the program is February 15th for Juniors who will begin the program at the end of Junior year or beginning of Senior year. Classes may be taken during Junior year, please inquire regarding your status in your current undergraduate major.  However,  due to substantial industry/national-lab demand for our students (many times the number of students we had  the past 3 years), we are further expanding the program enrollment cap for next year on a rolling basis.

Questions about your application or the AMP?  Email us at electrochemistry@uoregon.edu.

In order to complete the application process, you must send an email including the following:

1. Prepare a candidate’s statement
In approximately 500 words, please describe any relevant scientific experience you have that makes you a strong candidate for this program. In addition to your academic qualifications, your statement should incorporate your potential strengths as an employee in industry and why you feel this program is a good fit for your career goals. You should do this in advance in other software (e.g. Word) and then copy and paste it into the email text, or you may also attach the documents as a PDF.

2. Submit names of two faculty members for recommendations
Request faculty you’ve studied with to be available to discuss your candidacy for the AMP with us as we may contact them regarding your application to the program. Often it is helpful if you provide them with your candidate statement and resume to review prior to being contacted by us.

3. Submit a resume
Attach a 1-2 page resume highlighting your work, volunteer, research, and extra-curricular activities.

4. Submit your  unofficial UO transcripts
Please attach as a PDF.

PLEASE NOTE:    Applicants under consideration will be interviewed during  the candidate review process and admissions offers will be made on a rolling basis until all spots are filled.
