Finances

  1. Please note! Our program costs are different than those published by DGS and the Registrar, as the Electrochemistry Master’s Internship Program has a different rate (same for in state, out of state, and international students), so make sure you are mindful of our published information on program costs here: https://electrochemistry.uoregon.edu/masters-internship-program/costs/ .
  2. Division of Graduate Studies has basic information regarding institutional scholarships available to all UO students, as well as Federal Student Loans here: https://graduatestudies.uoregon.edu/admissions/tuition .

Housing

  1. There are also a limited number of rooms available on a month-to-month basis in the furnished Electrochemistry House (privately owned) reserved for MS students in this program or other researchers in the Oregon Center for Electrochemistry. Please contact Misty Jones at Preferred Northwest Property Management if you are interested in these. E-mail: misty@preferrednorthwestpm.com
  2. Office of the Dean of Students also has networks in place and resources for off campus housing here: https://dos.uoregon.edu/offcampus. They also have a “Roommate Guide” resource and forum for searching for a roommate.
  3. On campus housing may be an option for you, and you can find more information here: https://housing.uoregon.edu/options toward the bottom of the webpage there is information for Graduate and Family Housing.

 Basic Needs & Community Support

There is a new program through the Dean of Students managing programs and resources for basic needs such as food, housing, transportation, and other resources: https://blogs.uoregon.edu/basicneeds/. The Office of the Dean of Students  https://dos.uoregon.edu/also has several other teams/areas of assistance for several student groups, as does the student union via their page https://asuo.uoregon.edu/ . The ASUO also has a directory of student organizations which may be of interest to you once you are on campus.

Healthcare

If you wish to access University Health Center for any continuity of care concerns, we recommend you phone UO Health Services https://health.uoregon.edu/resources and connect with them regarding care and record transfer authorizations. If you have concerns, but do not have your DuckID or UO ID yet, give them a call. On the phone they can answer questions regarding transfer of care, medical records release and transfer, and several other “logistics” concerns to help with a smooth and timely switch prior to your arrival. They can also direct you to how to best access the student portal once you do have your ID.

Health Insurance

Our Program does not provide health insurance coverage, however all University of Oregon students do have access to plans and/or care through the University Health Center https://health.uoregon.edu/.

There are affordable plans to choose from for purchase available for students and dependents on the website here: https://health.uoregon.edu/health-insurance .

International Students are required to have health insurance meeting requirements listed within this policy page where the policy, procedures, and options for waiver (if appropriate) are available:
