Innovation Fellows

Innovation Fellows Program Drives Entrepreneurship

Researchers in the Oregon Center for Electrochemistry (OCE) attack basic and applied science and engineering challenges that lead to new approaches to technology and patented intellectual property.  We also host a world-leading electrochemistry science, engineering, and technology graduate program.

The Innovation Fellows Program (IFP) amplifies societal impact of the OCE by synergizing between research and innovation/commercialization.

The IFP is open to any applicants passionate about commercializing electrochemical technology.  The fellows will typically have a PhD,  industry experience, and/or key business experience. The fellows are granted  benefits central to executing their own innovation agenda or building off of OCE-generated intellectual property to start new companies. These include:

      • broad access to the laboratory facilities in the OCE and UO for electrochemical device fabrication, testing, durability analysis, and proof-of-concept prototyping
      • collaboration opportunities with talented OCE faculty and researchers with diverse skills
      • access to specialized OCE coursework and training opportunities in electrochemical science and engineering
      • assistance preparing commercialization grants applications to government and private sources from grant writing and science/technology experts
      • assistance in raising venture capital
      • assistance in collecting proof-of-concept data
      • seed funding  stipends  are available through the OCE to strong applicants

If you are interested in this program, and would like to discuss more, please send a short introductory email to the OCE director, Prof. Shannon Boettcher (swb@uoregon.edu), along with a resume/CV.
